Blair, MCD, L- CCC-SLP
Why I love working in pediatrics:
I love playing a role in and seeing the progress these sweet children make. From children who are just starting to talk and communicate up to those who need a little help producing speech sounds or improving language skills, I love having a hand in their development.
My favorite things to work on:
Some of my favorite areas to work on with children would be social, play, articulation, and language skills. All areas of which I try to find fun activities to keep the children engaged and entertained during therapy sessions.
A little about me:
I graduated from the school of Allied Health Professionals at LSU Health in December of 2022. I did my clinical fellowship years at the NWLA Veterans home before applying for a part time position here at Little Works in Progress. During that time, I realized my love for working with pediatrics and decided to apply for a full time position at Little works. I have been working here full time since November 2023 and could not be happier with my choice.
What families can expect from me:
I do my best to stay in contact and available with the families that I work with. You can expect a summary of what the sessions entailed, timely responses to any questions or concerns, and consistent support for at home carryover of skills and needs. Additionally, families can expect collaboration between myself and the parents to ensure we are both doing everything possible to help the child achieve their goals.
